Taze Shepard

1954 - 2022


Taze passed away in October 2022, He practiced law in Huntsville for over 40 years and was the President of the Alabama State Bar. The Alabama State Bar named Taze the VLP Volunteer of the Year at its 2019 Annual Meeting, and he is the President of Legal Services Alabama. He was a Martindale-Hubbell AV-Rated Attorney.

Taze was a Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Trustee for the Northern District of Alabama and represents businesses and individuals in complex bankruptcy and financial restructuring cases.

Taze was an Alabama Bar Commissioner, former President of the Madison County Volunteer Lawyers Program, and a member of the Legal Services Alabama Board of Directors. He was a member of the Committee of 100, a graduate of Huntsville Leadership - Class 25, and Huntsville Rotary Club.

Taze was a former Adjunct Professor of Law - University of Alabama School of Law, member of the Alabama State Board of Education, Athens State University Board of Trustees, the Alabama Space Science Commission, and the Alabama Supercomputer Authority.
